Best Android Apps for August 2024

New Android apps make their way into the Google Play Store every week if not daily. Filtering the best apps out of such a huge number of New apps is not easy for average Android users. That is why I decided to write about the best Android apps for every month. Similar to the previous month, I’ve come across five new Android apps that help you enhance your Android user experience. Here are the best Android apps for August 2024.

53 Best Android Apps Not Available On The Play Store!

Top 5 Best Android Apps for August 2024

1. FocusPodcast and AudioBooks

The first one of the best Android apps to try in August 2024 is FocusPodcast which is certainly one of the best free podcast apps I’ve come across. The app follows the material you design and keeps everything clean and minimal. With a single click, you can browse for podcasts of any category by tapping on these pre-made tags. Also, you can manually search for any specific topic. The app also allows you to choose the country to get relevant podcast recommendations in your region.

With a single click, you can subscribe to any podcast for free and listen to them. The play screen is minimal yet offers a handful of essential controls to rewind, forward, adjust the play speed, set sleep timer, and more. If you want to download podcasts for offline listening, you can do that too! In addition, you can create playlists, customize the app’s interface, and fine-tune some of the controls to your liking. All in all, if you are a huge podcast listener, don’t miss out on this one.

2. NoScroll: Avoid Doom-Scrolling

This is a must-have app if you want to disable shorts and reels on social media without locking the social media apps. You’ll be able to access everything else on those apps except the shorts and reels. Simply, install the app, allow the required permissions, and select the block all option to block YouTube shorts and Instagram reels entirely.

If you want to watch reels for a short amount of time, you can do so with the curious option. Select it and set the duration. After completion, you won’t be able to access the shorts. The app is easy to use and efficient at saving you valuable time. In addition, the app also lets you block apps and websites for better productivity.

3. Eye Pro – Blue Light Filter

There are a handful of good blue light filters available on the Play Store, and Eye Pro is one among them with arguably the best interface. The app offers blue light filters for seven different shades under a color temperature of 3500k. Above that level is not good for you and your children’s eyes, especially at night. So, you can pick any of the filters and even adjust the intensity and reduce the brightness to lower than the default brightness of your phone for even better eye protection. In addition, if you need help with your sleep, you can play these various relaxing sounds. It’s a must-have app if you use your phone a lot at night.

4. Remit – Daily Timer

Remit is a neat productivity app that helps you manage your time and enhance your daily routine. Using the app is pretty simple. You simply add a task, set the time goal, start it before beginning the task, and carry on with your task. The app will display the timer on the screen and let you know when the time’s up.

You can add as many tasks as you want this way with different colors and titles for better organization. For better tracking, you can have the timer displayed in full-screen mode. The charts help you track how much time you spend on each task, so you can plan your time better going forward. So, get it. It’s neat and easy to use.

5. U Launcher

The next one is not a new app, but a nice Android launcher that gives your phone the look of Ubuntu OS. The home screen by default looks underwhelming. You can delete anything you see on the screen if you want to and customize it to your taste. What’s unique about the launcher is that you can easily access the notification panel and file manager from the bottom navigation bar.

If you’re not satisfied with the theme, you can install any of these from the Play Store and apply with a single click. You can further fine-tune the theme to your taste with wallpapers and widgets. The launcher offers many more features including gesture support, app locking and hiding abilities, and more. Overall, it’s a good launcher if you know how to block intrusive ads.
